The school’s two instructors at the aircraft

Two Instructors · That Is The Whole School

The People Who Will Teach You To Fly

You are assigned one primary instructor and fly with the same person through your certificate, rather than being handed to whoever is free that morning.

Pilot & Owner

At the school
Owner, lead pilot and senior flight instructor
Teaches
Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument, CFI and CFII, and multi-engine training

Denis owns the school and flies as its lead pilot and senior instructor.

He oversees the full ladder — private pilot, instrument, commercial, the instructor certificates and multi-engine training — so the person setting your syllabus is the person flying the later stages of it with you.

Fly often, brief properly, and never leave a lesson without knowing what the next one is.

Sergio

Certified Flight Instructor

At the school
Primary student instructor
Teaches
Private pilot training, discovery flights, flight reviews and recurrent training

Sergio is the primary instructor for students starting out, and flies most private pilot training at the school.

He also takes the flight reviews and recurrent training that bring rated pilots back to currency, and flies discovery flights for people who have not been in a small aeroplane before.

Plan the flight on the ground so the flight itself is quiet.

How It Works

Three things people ask before they book, answered in full rather than in a line each.

How Instructor Assignment Works

You are assigned one primary instructor, and the other is your backup when schedules or illness get in the way.

  • Changing instructor is allowed and free. If the fit is wrong, say so.
  • Denis talks through the reason, checks the other instructor has capacity, and hands over your syllabus, your endorsements and your lesson notes.
  • Nothing about your progress is lost, and nothing is charged for the switch.
  • Progress is written down: a written syllabus with lesson grades and stage reviews, logged in Flight Schedule Pro.
  • A handover is therefore a transfer of records rather than a fresh start.

What It Costs to Fly with Us

Flight education is $110 an hour, and that is the whole rate — the aircraft and your instructor together, with fuel and oil included. There is no separate instructor charge to add to it.

Time is billed for what you actually use, in the air and on the ground, from the start of the planned briefing to the end of the debrief. A typical lesson adds 0.3–0.5 hours of ground time to the flight.

What Each Instructor Teaches

Between them they cover the whole ladder taught here: private pilot, instrument, commercial, the CFI and CFII instructor certificates, and multi-engine training in the Piper Seminole.

Sergio takes most primary students through the private pilot certificate, along with flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks. Denis oversees the commercial, instructor and multi-engine stages.
